I Rewatched the Scooby-Doo Animated Movies from 1979 to 2004 and Here I Present You My Opinions. Part 3

Scooby Dooby Doo, Where Are Youuuuuu?

As you have may noticed by my last entry, I love Scooby Doo and I’m rewatching and reviewing every animated movie from 1979 to 2004. By reviewing I’m talking about If I like it or not, what do I like, have I seen it before and stuff like that, dont expect a full on critique of every movie, because probably on each review I will say Daphne is my icon and stuff like that. I have to give a disclaimer (at least I think I need to) I will be giving spoilers but we are talking about Scooby Doo movies so i dont think it is a big deal, but just giving you a heads up.

On this, the third part of the series of entries, I will be talking about the third group of three movies of Scooby Doo, sooo, lets get started.

9.Scooby-Doo and the Alien Invaders (2000)

Mystery Inc. is driving through a desert in New Mexico when something distracts them, causing them drive bad and the Mystery Machine gets decomposed. So, they are trapped in a town where they find out that Aliens might be real.

I actually had never seen this movie before this entry, so I was pretty surprised when they hit us with the biggest plot twist of all time, that Shaggy and Scooby were not hungry. This one has a different vibe than the others, it is really wholesome and has a fresh new air to it. Just look at the song they made when Shaggy liked Crystal and it has the lyric “We are going to have a tie dye wedding” and the fact that Shaggy and Scooby changed their appearance for Crystal and her dog omg.

Now lets talk about the villains, the aliens had an actual cool and realistic design, for a moment I thought that they were actual aliens, but at the end we found out they are not, the actual villains were predictable to me, i dont know why but I wanted a better plot twist or reveal. But an actual plot twist was that Crystal and her dog were actual aliens, I didnt see that one coming.

For me, this is kind of in the middle, in every aspect not the best, not the worst but enjoyable.

My grade to Scooby-Doo and the Alien Invaders is a 6/10

10.Scooby-Doo! and the Cyber Chase (2001)

Velma has friend that is making a videogame about Mystery Inc in his university, but in said university there is a virus/monster that was created that now terrorizes the building and soon will confront Scooby and his friend in the reality where the virus came from.

This is one of the coolest movies ever. Let’s start with the design and animation, it is very different from the other movies, this movie changes the outfits of Fred and Daphne which makes sense because it is placed years later than other movies. I love the design of the monster/virus, i dont know what to call it, but it is really cool and their laugh was lowkey haunting.

It is without a doubt the coolest and most creative plot of all of the movies in this list. It was literally a videogame, I loved that in the last level they bring past monsters from the tv show, it was really cool recognize some of them. During this last level, we saw a lot of self awareness from the characters, they even know how they always separate in a way that Shaggy and Scooby end up together with the monsters; during this part they also meet their version of themselves in the game and it look a lot like the meme of two spidermans pointing at each other.

As I said before, I really liked this movie, but it has one flaw for me. It gets repetitive, there were like 5 levels of the videogame, even though each level was different, it was tiring that they had almost the same ending everytime, before they were caught by the virus/monster and its helpers they win the level.

In conclusion, this movie walked so Ralph Breaks the Internet could crawl.

My grade to Scooby-Doo! and the Cyber Chase is a 8/10

.

11.Scooby-Doo! and the Legend of the Vampire (2003)

Mystery Inc is on a vacation in Australia, they decide to attend to a music festival/competition, when they arrived they discover that some bands that were supposed to play have been kidnapped by the Yowie Yahoo and his vampire minions.

I really liked this movie, It has really cool details, like the odd to the intro of the TV Show, the return of the Hex Girls, the outfits of the gang when they try to passed as a band. One thing that I cant handle with this movie is the fact that the credits are on Comic Sans. Also, It has a lot and really cool music, for example the song “I’m a Hex Girl” the Hex Girls are my icons, i love them omg.

Now lets talk about the villain. I like them and they are actually really scary, the creators of this movie really snapped with the design of them. For a moment I actually thought that the Yowie Yahoo and the vampires were real, I really liked the build up they made for the reveal of who the vampires actually were and that the Yowie Yahoo was just a projection. One thing that always felt weird with the kidnapping and the vampires was that everyone reacted so slowly when they or someone was getting kidnapped, like it was almost a minute of build up and no one move until they were gone omg.

In conclusion, I really like this movie and lowkey made me want to visit Australia.

My grade to Scooby-Doo! and the Legend of the Vampire is a 9/10
